April was generous with sunshine and warmth, creating a bright, joyful atmosphere; however, it’s the details that tell the real story: a bridal party in mismatching sage green styles, each wearing whatever made them feel most comfortable (and looking fab). Flowers that felt perfectly curated yet wonderfully wild. And our favourite touch – a bride who chose a beautiful floral gown that nodded to tradition while adding her own delightful personality. Over to Brittany from Olive Branch Photography, who has all the details about their beautifully considered day…
As a photographer, Bruisyard Country Estate is a dream location. The light is absolutely beautiful, especially in the early evening when the golden glow sweeps across the grounds. The combination of the elegant manor house, the rustic charm of the barn, and the surrounding Suffolk countryside offers a diverse range of settings, from romantic and refined backdrops to relaxed and natural moments. What I loved most about Tash and George’s wedding was how seamlessly the venue reflected their personalities: warm, stylish, and effortlessly elegant. It allowed me to document everything authentically, from quiet morning moments to the joy-filled evening celebrations, all in one truly inspiring setting.
Tash’s bridal look was nothing short of show-stopping. She wore a romantic, voluminous gown adorned with delicate floral appliqués—whimsical yet modern, with a fairytale silhouette that perfectly suited the countryside setting of Bruisyard Estate. The off-the-shoulder neckline and soft puff sleeves added a touch of drama, while the intricate detailing gave the dress an ethereal, couture feel. It was the kind of gown that moved beautifully and made every frame feel cinematic. Her accessories were minimal and refined, allowing the dress to take centre stage. She wore her hair in a soft, half-up style, with natural waves cascading down, and finished it with subtle makeup that highlighted her features in the most timeless way.
The bridal party wore sage green outfits in varied styles, bringing a fresh, organic tone to the day. The palette worked beautifully with the estate’s lush surroundings and the soft, romantic florals woven throughout.
George opted for a relaxed, contemporary look, featuring a refined suit that felt fresh and unfussy, along with a boutonnière that mirrored the day’s floral palette. The look was understated yet incredibly stylish, and it was ideally suited to the laid-back elegance of the day.
Altogether, their fashion choices felt authentic to them—romantic, modern, and quietly confident. It was a joy to document such considered and cohesive styling in such a beautiful setting.
Tash and George’s wedding beautifully embraced a soft, romantic, and modern countryside aesthetic. The overall décor was elegant yet relaxed, with a fresh and understated charm that perfectly complemented the venue’s rustic beauty.
The ceremony space featured neutral blooms, delicate greenery, and a natural, wildflower feel. This simple yet striking focal point set the tone for the day—effortless, romantic, and full of texture. The use of light, airy colours, with subtle blushes, creams, and hints of gold, created a dreamy atmosphere, bathed in the warmth of the natural light streaming through the barn’s windows.
The main table, where Tash and George sat, was an explosion of bright, colourful wildflowers—vivid, fresh, and full of life, bringing a joyful and lively energy to the reception. The mix of flowers—ranging from soft pastels to bold hues—stood out against the wooden beams and neutral tones of the barn, creating a striking yet natural focal point.
Books were also incorporated into the décor, cementing the couple’s love of literature. Stacks of vintage books added a thoughtful touch to the tables, making them not only visually beautiful but deeply personal, symbolising the couple’s shared passion for reading and storytelling.
Overall, the theme was a seamless blend of rustic elegance and personal touches—each detail carefully chosen to reflect Tash and George’s journey, interests, and love for each other. The décor felt effortlessly whimsical yet sophisticated, creating a warm, cosy atmosphere for their special day.
The florist was the talented Gin House Flowers, based in Histon. They did an incredible job of capturing the couple’s vision with soft, wildflower-inspired blooms that perfectly complemented the rustic charm of the Estate. Each bridesmaid was given an individual bouquet, making every arrangement unique, while still tying into the overall theme of spring-inspired, soft wildflowers.
The flowers were a beautiful mix of delicate pastels, all arranged with a natural, wild feel. The bouquets exuded the essence of spring—fresh, vibrant, and full of life—while the colour palette of blush pinks, creams, and soft greens created a dreamy, romantic atmosphere throughout the day. The florals helped set the tone for the wedding, bringing the outdoors inside and creating a stunning focal point in every space.
Tash and George opted for a beautifully personal touch when it came to their wedding cakes—three elegant, understated creations made lovingly by a family member. Each cake was unique yet cohesive, reflecting the relaxed and thoughtful tone of the day. Simple in design but full of charm, they were a perfect representation of the couple’s style: effortlessly beautiful and heartfelt.
As a photographer, I love it when couples include handmade elements in their wedding, and these cakes were no exception. Displayed together, they made for a gorgeous focal point, and knowing they were made by someone close to the couple added an extra layer of meaning to the celebration.
I’m the photographer behind Olive Branch Photography, and I specialise in capturing weddings in a relaxed, documentary style—focusing on real moments, natural light, and all the beautiful in-between details that make each day unique. I’m based in Suffolk but travel across the UK to tell couples’ stories with honesty and heart.
My aim is always to make people feel comfortable and completely themselves in front of the camera, so that the images reflect not just how everything looked, but how it felt. Tash and George’s wedding at Bruisyard Estate was a joy to photograph—the soft spring florals, the literary details, and the relaxed, joyful atmosphere were an absolute dream.
As a photographer, it’s always hard to choose just one standout moment—but for Tash and George’s wedding, it has to be the atmosphere during the golden hour portraits and the evening celebrations that followed. After a day filled with love, laughter, and the most thoughtful details, the energy shifted into something beautifully relaxed and joyfully unfiltered.
Golden hour at Bruisyard Estate was simply magical—soft light spilling across the fields while Tash and George took a quiet moment together, away from the crowd. It was a perfect pocket of calm, where they could just breathe and take it all in. You could feel the joy between them, and it made for some of my favourite images of the day.
Shortly after, the dance floor came alive and the barn was buzzing with celebration—guests letting loose, drinks flowing, and laughter filling the air. There’s something incredibly special about capturing people in those honest, in-between moments, and this part of the day was bursting with them.
If I could offer one piece of advice to any couple, it would be to truly relax and soak it all in—your wedding day goes by so quickly, and you only get to live it once. Try not to worry about the little things or whether everything is going exactly to plan. The most beautiful moments often come from the unplanned—those spontaneous bursts of laughter, the quiet glances, and the absolute, unfiltered joy.
As a photographer, I’ve seen that the couples who enjoy their day the most are the ones who let go, trust their suppliers, and simply focus on each other. Be present, take moments to pause together, and let yourself feel everything—because those are the memories that will stay with you forever.
