Scott & Hannah’s Tythe Barn Micro Wedding

Written by Caitlin Hoare
An intimate, barn wedding with an abundance of autumnal charm.

Hannah and Scott’s micro wedding took place in October last year, at The Tythe Barn in Oxfordshire. After the stresses and strains of wedding planning during 2020 their day turned out to be a beautiful, intimate affair with just their closest friends and family.

Perhaps not what they had originally imagined, but totally magical nonetheless…

Notes from the Bride

Hannah says…

We visited quite a few venues but when we stepped into The Tythe Barn, we looked at each other and just knew it was right for us. It had this amazing atmosphere with spectacular spots for photos, different areas we could use throughout the day and the most beautiful scenery outside.

My dress was by Maggie Sottero which was from Serendipity Brides in Daventry. It was a lace A-line dress with sequin sparkles, a very full undercoat, and a gorgeous long train. My hair vine was by Ivory & Co, my feather cape was from Lace & Favour and my shoes were from Ted Baker. Katie Jane Whitlock did my hair; she is amazing at boho wedding up-dos, I was really happy with the result!

We kept the décor quite simple but I have to say that Jemma from The Flower Shed was a-m-a-z-i-n-g!!! Jemma is so talented but also the loveliest person you will ever meet. She gave us lots of advice, suggested what might work well together and threw in some ideas that I wouldn’t have thought of but she made it all work perfectly. We went for lots of greenery inside the barn and included some pastel coloured flowers in our bouquets and milk churns.

Our cake was a completely gluten-free, 4-tier, semi-naked cake with 4 flavours lemon, strawberry and champagne, gingerbread and banana which was then decorated with gingerbread biscuits for the kids… and adults!

Our guests enjoyed a selection of canapés to start, traditional roast beef main course and a trio of desserts which included a delicious vanilla cheesecake, chocolate brownie and meringue to finish.

MT Studio truly made us feel comfortable throughout the day, advised on poses and captured the scenery perfectly. It was all very relaxed, and we just bounced off each other with ideas. They are incredibly talented and made us look and feel amazing all day, thank you!

Best part of the day

Each part of the day had its own special moments. Due to Covid we ended up splitting our celebrations which actually felt like two wedding days!

From one couple to another…

Plan well but then just enjoy it. The whole experience flies by and you have to capture each part so that it doesn’t pass you by.
