The Setting
Situated on the banks of the River Ure, at the foothill of the Yorkshire Dales, on the edge of a charming traditional Dales village, with two great pubs and lots of stunning walks, Tanfield House delivers an entirely unique and intimate ‘at home’ experience, often denied by more commercial wedding venues.
The Vibe
The vibe of this venue is informal and relaxed with couples designing the space according to their vision.
With full wedding planning support and management provided within the venue hire fee you will be able to choose your own caterer to work with and the style of feast that’s right for you – from a sit down banquet to summer BBQs, sharing platters and afternoon teas! You are free to choose whatever light evening catering you desire, ranging from buffets to vintage pizza ovens and ice cream bicycles.
The house is always open to guests to make full use of the drawing room and other comforts throughout your wedding and smaller parties can dine in the house (max 40). The majority of their weddings involve a marquee and they work with a great supplier on incredibly competitive rates, delivering stunningly finished marquees for couples to personalise as they wish.
While the team run Tanfield House with extreme efficiency, they do so with joy and lightheartedness and the homeliness and privacy of the venue delivers a very relaxed feel.
