Swinfen Hall

Swinfen Hall was the first venue we laid eyes on when looking for a perfect place for our wedding reception. The outstanding view coming down the drive took our breath away. The beautiful gardens and magnificent hall had us sold. As we looked around other venues, we always thought back to Swinfen Hall and nothing could compare. In 2018 we decided that there was nowhere else we would rather get married. In December of 2019 we had our food tasting – everything was beautifully presented and tasted fantastic.

In 2020 (the year of our wedding) Covid hit which would probably cause a lot of couples to stress. Thanks to the kindness of Swinfen we got to continue with our plans whilst having a backup date for the following year. We later decided to postpone until 2021 and Lucie and the team did an incredible job of working out a plan for us with the forever changing restrictions which continued right up until the last couple of weeks. They answered every question we had and were on hand with anything we needed.

Despite Covid the day went PERFECTLY but this is absolutely all down to the staff at Swinfen hall. It ran so smoothly and we know that this is all because of the fantastic organisation by all the team on the Saturday and for the breakfast on the Sunday. I special mention to Lucie who was with us every step of the way in the final year and on the day! And to Stuart and Michael who were so attentive during our stay at Swinfen. To all the staff during the day and following morning – thank you to you all doing such a fantastic job – especially during the pandemic.

For those thinking of booking your Wedding at Swinfen – I cannot recommend them enough there is no doubt in our minds that you will have an amazing day as did we. Swinfen absolutely go above and beyond to make the day run perfectly.

From the minute we first visited Swinfen Hall we were blown away by the customer service and knowledge of the staff. Michael was so welcoming and helpful and immediately we felt at home. For the three years of our engagement we regularly visited Swinfen for a variety of events and cream teas or meals because we love the venue so much! Lucie was our events manager and nothing was too much trouble. Lucie was kind, approachable and always had a smile when we saw her (even behind the masks).
The whole team from previous owners, new owners and bar staff or chefs, all deserve a huge thank you for everything they do. We had an amazing day and evening and feel so lucky to have had such a special day in such a phenomenal venue. We are planning on going back regularly and they have life long customers out of us.

Peter and I would like to say the biggest ‘thank you’ to everyone at Swinfen who played a part in our wedding on 19th July. We had the most stunningly perfect day and we have been inundated with messages from our guests to say that it was the best wedding they had ever been to. The venue, food, service, atmosphere and ambiance were all stunning. Nothing was too much trouble and Michael made sure our day ran so smoothly it was effortless. Special thanks to Lucie for all the planning and attention to detail, and for all the service team who did such a great job too. Swinfen will forever be a very special place to us and we can’t wait to visit again. Thank you all so much for everything you did to make our day so perfect.

We would just like to say a big ‘Thank You’ for the wonderful day you put on last Saturday for Lydia & Ashley’s wedding breakfast. The hotel and grounds were magnificent and enjoyed by all the guests. The room looked lovely and the food & wine was enjoyed by all – compliments to the Chef. From the moment we arrived for drinks & canapés to the time we left after breakfast the following day, the efficiency, professionalism and discreet service and friendliness of you all was much appreciated. We thought John the MC really did put the icing on the cake (pardon the pun). We look forward to seeing you all again soon and wait in anticipation for the new and exciting developments at Swinfen Hall. We shall always remember Lydia’s wedding day at Swinfen Hall.

We had previously attended two weddings at Swinfen and looked into having ours here as we both love the venue. From my very first phone call with Lucie, the Wedding Coordinator I was immediately put at ease and knew this was the place I wanted to get married. We had looked at other venues but they just didn’t seem to be as accommodating and friendly.

Lucie put together potential packages for us and was readily available to change elements of it to suit our requirements. As it was a Covid restricted wedding the Micro Wedding package was perfect for us. On visiting the location, we were offered an extensive menu to choose from which gave us both a hard time choosing from so many amazing dishes for our guests. The wine list was also fabulous, we knew we were in for a great day.

Lucie kept us up to date with details and never minded when I gave her the odd panicked phone call. I felt totally at ease that the day was going to go as we had hoped for.

I chose to stay overnight before the wedding with two of my bridesmaids – I would recommend this to anyone. All the accommodation was excellent and every guest loved their rooms and felt looked after. Breakfast was excellent and the staff were warm and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. James was a morning delight! Housekeeping, fabulous and the rooms were spotless.

Lucie came to see me on the morning and let me know how everything was going. Throughout the day she kept everything on track including the extensive music selection we provided her with. Michael was fabulous and looked after us throughout the afternoon. Totally professional staff but also friendly and approachable. Every member of staff we came across was welcoming and friendly. Our guests still talk about how great the staff were at the venue, they make you feel like its your day and whatever they can do to help isn’t putting them out.

The food on the day was second to none and every guest commented on how fabulous the food was. The slow cooked beef was incredible, and the desserts were totally yummy. We cannot fault the day and how easy Swinfen made everything for us. I’m a bit of a control freak and to hand over the organisation to others was difficult for me, however I cannot recommend highly enough allowing the staff at Swinfen to take your day on and make it the most wonderful event that you always remember. The only issue I had on the day was it went too quickly – But I’m sure if Swinfen could make a 24 hour day longer they would!

I just want to say a massive thank you to you and all the staff for all your help and hard work at Mollie and Josh’s wedding. It couldn’t have gone more smoothly and for that we thank you all. We have had so many comments regarding the venue and how beautiful and perfect it was, I couldn’t fault anything about the day, it was perfect. We had the best day!
