The approach to the house is truly romantic. It’s hard to do this spectacular setting justice, but perhaps you can picture this moment: after passing through intricate iron gates and travelling down an elegant drive through the parkland where fallow deer graze, the handsome, historic house and its 14th-century chapel come into view.
Set in the Valley, surrounded by rolling treelined hillside, the venue is close to Henley maintrain station, Marlow, Thame and Watlington. M4 and M40 15 minutes, Heathrow 35 minutes.
As a wedding venue, Stonor Park is impressive, warmly inviting and sublimely photogenic.
A wide variety of exclusive venues play host to wedding receptions; the front lawn is the most classical with the house and atmospheric stone circle as a magnificent backdrop. Marquees for up to 500 guests can be sited here.
The house itself is an elegant choice for a drinks reception for up to 150 guests with a gallery opening out onto the divine Italianate walled gardens – the perfect setting for photos. A drinks reception in the house can be followed by a wedding breakfast on the front lawn.
With 250 acres of rolling parkland they would be delighted to discuss whatever magical venue you have in mind, from woodland weddings to beautiful summer glades with endless views of the Chilterns. The spaces are offered individually or in combination.
For religious ceremonies, Roman Catholic services can be held in their private 14th Century chapel. Up to 80 guests can witness the ceremony in this wonderful, ancient building. Alternatively, there are several local Anglican Churches, including the parish church of Pishill, which looks out over Stonor Park. Registry Offices can be found in Henley on Thames, Wallingford, Thame and Oxford.
