Sculpture by the Lakes

The Setting

Sculpture by the Lakes provides a unique opportunity to experience the best that both nature and art have to offer. Described as one of the most beautiful sculpture parks in the UK, these 26 glorious acres are a haven for art aficionados and nature lovers alike.

The Retreat at Sculpture by the Lakes comes with its own exclusive area with river frontage, a lake and stream. Your wedding reception will be in The Retreat, a stunning double storey timber building with a roof terrace offering beautiful views over the Dorset countryside. It is situated in it’s own exclusive area which has a lake and river frontage.

Available Wednesday – Sunday, the space accommodates 60 people for lunch or 100 for a drinks reception. There is also the option to have a marquee with a capacity of 250 people linked to this exclusive area for a larger wedding.

The Vibe

Sculpture by the Lakes is the perfect venue for celebrating your wedding. Beautiful, tranquil, and utterly unique, Sculpture by the Lakes can provide you with a day to remember.

Nestled within 26 acres of Dorset’s most glorious countryside, Sculpture by the Lakes is an oasis of peace and beauty. The artwork perfectly complements the scenery and will provide a magnificent backdrop for your special day. Whether you’re planning an intimate elopement or a larger ceremony, Sculpture By The Lakes can provide the perfect wedding for you.

As each wedding is unique, they will work with you to ensure that your day is completely bespoke. Their team of experienced professionals will tailor your wedding package to suit your needs.

Both the Island and the Pavilion are licenced for wedding ceremonies. These are tranquil, intimate venues, but a video link can be provided to the larger Retreat or Barn Gallery if needed.

Alternatively, couples can have a celebrant perform the ceremony in one of the park’s many unique locations. They also have capacity for a marquee wedding for up to 250 people at the exclusive Retreat.

Depending on the size and nature of your wedding, they have several potential reception venues. The Retreat is an exclusive and sophisticated venue to which the public do not have access. Here, they can host a sit-down meal for up to 70 people, or a drinks reception for up to 100. For larger events they can offer a marquee for up to 250.

The Retreat is a beautiful timber building surrounded by lakes, streams, and the River Frome. From its roof terrace, guests can enjoy uninterrupted views of the park and the Frome Valley. It’s the kind of vista which photographers dream of, and it makes for truly stunning wedding photographs.

For smaller weddings, they can provide an intimate reception for up to eight people at the Island or the Pavilion. At all times their team will be on hand to ensure that your day goes perfectly to plan.

Large Weddings

Sculpture by the Lakes specialises in smaller weddings, but they can also provide for larger parties. On Mondays and Tuesdays they offer the option to hire the entire 26 acre park for the exclusive use of your wedding party.

They are also capable of hosting a marquee wedding for up to 250 guests in the grounds of the exclusive Retreat.

Elopement Weddings

Sculpture By The Lakes is at its best with intimate elopement weddings. Wedding ceremonies can be held at the Pavilion or the Island, both of which are unique, tranquil locations surrounded by their most beautiful lakes.

Following the ceremony, they would be delighted to provide a reception for up to eight guests at the Pavilion, the Island, or in their Riverkeeper’s Hut.
