The Setting

Tucked away on the northern edge of the Black Isle, Newhall Mains offers the perfect antidote to the intensity of daily life.

Suitably located 30 mins north of Inverness, they are the perfect base for exploring all that the Highlands has to offer. The family-run property which, up until 2018 was classified ‘at risk’, has been lovingly restored into a series of cottages and guest suites. The original L-shaped barn has been converted into one of the region’s finest events spaces, and overlooks a traditional 18th century courtyard.

The Vibe

Whatever your preferred style – from laid-back and minimal to luxury and opulent, their lovingly converted events space is the perfect backdrop to a truly individual and exclusive occasion. Whether it’s an elegantly intimate affair or a wildly grand celebration, Newhall Mains offer the flexibility and expertise to make your day one-of-a-kind.

With high ceilings and original stonework, the events space combines the perfect marriage of old and new. The 18th century barn, which was originally used for grain storage, has been painstakingly transformed into a beautifully appointed room, fit for both grand feasts and intimate dinners alike. The original wooden-shutters have been replaced with large glass openings, allowing easy access to the courtyard and fantastic views over Ben Wyvis.

Their cottages and rooms are individually designed and decorated, incorporating an eclectic yet functional twist on Highland hospitality. They strive for authenticity, but opt for a fresh and elegant approach to styling, in place of the overdone tartan and stag motifs.

Their beds are handmade to the highest standards, with white linen, soft pillows and topped with 100% natural Jacob Sheep rugs from the Estate, to help you slip into a long, comfortable sleep.
