Henge Estate is a stunning country estate set within 25 acres of Wiltshire countryside. With its elegance and privacy, it provides an idyllic backdrop for any wedding celebration. The Manor House, surrounded by historic grounds and breathtaking parkland, offers a charming and comfortable space for guests. Views of the front lawn, walled garden, and woods all add to the estate’s beauty and charm.
Many couples choose a symbolic ceremony with a Celebrant in the walled garden, a peaceful, picturesque space to exchange vows.
Official ceremonies can take place at the nearby St Mary’s ancient Norman Church in Shrewton or the registry offices in either Salisbury, Trowbridge or Chippenham. Afterwards, the celebration continues at Henge Estate, where couples and their guests can enjoy the historic grounds and house for their reception.
The venue offers multiple options for a reception. For smaller weddings of up to 24 guests, the dining room is transformed into an intimate and stylish space with views over the front lawn and fields. For larger weddings of 25 – 200 guests, a marquee can be set up either on the lawn in front of the Manor House, with sweeping views of the parkland, or on the tennis court surrounded by woods. The flexibility of the space allows couples to design their ideal celebration, whether it’s an intimate gathering or a larger festival-style event.
The wedding party can stay on-site in the luxurious Manor House, which features ten main bedrooms, each with a private bathroom. For guests with mobility needs, the ground-floor library can be converted into an 11th bedroom with an ensuite. The estate sleeps up to 24 people, including the library conversion, and is available for exclusive use. Couples opting for a weekend celebration will have ample time to set up and enjoy the venue. The venue also offers special rates for midweek bookings, and it’s possible to book the estate for a one-day celebration without the need for accommodation.
Couples can choose their own suppliers for food and drink, with no extra charge for bringing in external suppliers. The estate’s event coordinator is available to assist with planning and can help connect couples with excellent suppliers familiar with the venue. The choice is entirely in the couple’s hands.
Henge Estate is committed to achieving carbon neutrality by 2030, with renewable energy already powering 100% of electricity, all hot water, and 25% of heating in winter. Sustainable restoration practices preserved the estate’s historic character by reusing original furniture, incorporating antique and second-hand pieces, and using reclaimed tiles and recycled materials where possible.
Sustainably sourced products for guests include B-Corp-certified bed linen, biodegradable and vegan toiletries from Bramley, and cleaning products from SMOL. The kitchen minimises single-use plastics with a sparkling water machine, organic teabags, and carbon-neutral coffee beans, while food waste is composted for use on the estate.
Pollinator-friendly practices include six beehives in the orchard, home to 200,000 bees, and seasonal initiatives like “No Mow May” to support wildflower growth. Guests are encouraged to recycle with bins provided and follow a house guide promoting conservation and waste reduction during their stay.
The local area offers a beautiful and tranquil setting. The estate’s location in Wiltshire provides easy access to historic sites like Stonehenge, charming villages, Salisbury City, and the picturesque countryside. Henge Estate is the ideal location for couples seeking a secluded yet accessible venue to host their wedding celebrations.
