In the secluded setting of the Surrey Hills, 5 miles south of Guildford lies Gate Street Barn, a truly magnificent place for any special occasion. Gate Street Barn is built in the traditional style using wood from oak trees lost on the farm in the 1987 hurricane. Gate Street Barn boasts beautiful landscaped gardens and views of the working organic farm and a hobby herd of English Longhorn cattle. There is ample all-weather parking!
Their colourful, evergreen gardens make an ideal setting for a stunning spring / summer reception and their atmospheric lighting and wood burning stoves enhance the cosy and warm ambiance for an autumn / winter event.
They have a capacity for up to 150 seated guests and can accommodate 200 for an evening reception or less formal occasion.

Luxury On-Site Accommodation
Adjacent to the venue, the Farmhouse has seven double bedrooms, mostly ensuite, two of which are on the ground floor for easy access. Some rooms can be made up as doubles or twins.
A traditional cooked breakfast is served in the dining room with a log fire in winter months, or outside under the loggia in summer. Check-in is midday, unless there is no booking the previous day, and check-out is 9.30am if there is another wedding the following day. This ensures exclusivity for each couple. In summer months, the heated swimming pool is open for an early morning dip and there is an all-weather tennis court.
The Shepherd’s Hut is their luxury ‘glamping’ option (although it does have a private bathroom attached to the Pheasantry). It is very much in the centre of the venue, complete with toaster and kettle. A continental breakfast provided.
The Hayloft is a more secluded option, which is all on the ground floor. It can be a double or a twin to suit, and has an ensuite shower room and mini kitchen. A continental breakfast provided.
The Stable Flat is a self-contained unit which is part of the main barn building. It has two double bedrooms, one of which can be made up as a double or a twin. There is also a sofa-bed option in the reception room. This is ideal for families or elderly guests, as it has a kitchen with all the usual facilities for making a full English breakfast which is left in the fridge for preparing at your convenience. Although there are a few steps, it is all on one level for easy access.
Choosing a Woodland Wedding means you have the freedom to create a completely personal ceremony and a unique setting!
The space is DIY so you have total flexibility to use it however you would like! You may decide to bring in more furniture and props or add to the woodlands with ferns and floristry. You can make the space wild and natural, go with a festival bohemian style or just the popular rustic feel. Be inspired by the space and the season of your wedding!
The natural light and greenery mean the area is already beautiful. With a traditional venue you can spend a lot of effort to bring the natural world indoors, with a woodland it is already all there!
