Doxford Hall is a classical Regency country house wedding venue. It’s so romantic, as though straight from the set of a Jane Austen drama…
Photo opportunities abound, both inside and out this venue, with its rich interiors and architectural detailing. A canopied stone staircase tucked into the corner of the front facade for example is so perfect for showing off a spectacular bridal gown!
Its 10 acres of gardens and grounds include secret walled gardens with espaliered fruit trees, the yew tree maze (Europe’s largest don’t you know?) and the terrace area, with stone balustrades overlooking the rolling countryside.
This four red star venue is a fabulously elegant country wedding celebration – the venue has good rail and road links and is just a 10 minute drive from Alnwick.
Doxford Hall feels inviting and the team are friendly and welcoming to ensure that you and your guests feel right at home in this beautiful country house. Doxford’s characterful rooms exude period detail and style, with lovely antiques, china and paintings to add to its ‘at home’ vibe.
The Ballroom or Kennedy Suite at Doxford is seriously opulent, a space where fairytale dreams can come true, and where couples can entertain up to 200 guests for their ceremony, wedding breakfast or evening reception – beautiful crystal chandeliers add to the sparkle and feeling of elegance.
There are several areas that are also licensed for civil ceremonies and partnerships, The George Runciman suite with its columns and deep red interiors is magnificent for a winter wedding for up to 160 guests; whilst The Library and Flower Room have a character all of their own, the latter boasting the most awe-inspiring Neoclassical Arched window and The Library having a exquisitely detailed stained glass ceiling rose; then there is Frank Henry Mason a beautiful oak panelled reception room ideal for an intimate candle-lit wedding breakfast.
The Aqueous Spa adds even more appeal with its wonderful range of spa treatments ensuring bridal couples and guests are preened to look and feel their best. A ‘dressing room’ can be arranged for the bride and bridesmaids on the day, in which to enjoy the fun and ritual of preparing for the day ahead, whilst enjoying a glass of fizz and other treats!
Accommodation is 36 stately rooms and suites, all individually decorated in country house style, and including four-poster suites, which are often favoured by the bridal couple – The Coach House and The Head Gardener’s Cottage provide additional accommodation for guests, close to the main Hall.
