The Setting

Crayke Manor is a Tudor Manor House, built in 1620 and considered to be one of the most beautiful homes in North Yorkshire. Sitting in its own 17 meadowy acres, you’ll have an amazing sense of privacy and privilege when staying here.

The estate includes a Dutch covered barn, perfect for weddings and parties. They’ve hosted many weddings and large social events in the relatively short time it has been available for hire. Guests have enjoyed tailoring the occasion to suit their tastes; dressing-up the covered barn, erecting marquees in the meadows, even hosting silent discos on the lawns.

Crayke Manor is 10 miles from York, with London reachable in under 2 hours.

The Vibe

Crayke Manor is a DIY venue.

They provide the most wonderful setting and platform for a couple to stage their own bespoke wedding event – leaving you to choose the caterers you want and how you wish to dress the Barn – or leave it in its’ simple, rustic unadorned beauty.

They don’t charge corkage, neither do they insist on any preferred suppliers – but they’d be happy to provide a list of suppliers that previous couples have used, from caterers to florists, from musicians to pop-up bars.

As part of this chilled, rustic vibe, couples can book the venue for a few days – a day to set-up, a day to wed and a day to wind-down and enjoy post-party. Outside the busier summer months, a 2 day option is available – and perhaps suitable for smaller, more intimate weddings of under 50 guests.

Couples can seek extra help on co-ordination or design with the help of a wedding planner and they can happily recommend from a tried and tested selection on request.
