About
Setting

Bespoke at Great Danegate is set within the captivating High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Eridge, East Sussex, five miles south of Royal Tunbridge Wells. This remarkable countryside venue, surrounded by rolling fields, mature woodlands, and gentle Kentish hills, offers a peaceful escape with the convenience of easy access for guests travelling from near or far.

Ceremony

At Great Danegate, couples may select from a variety of outdoor settings for their ceremony, each framed by the natural beauty of the High Weald. The expansive open field is a popular choice, offering panoramic views of the Kent countryside, perfect for larger gatherings with space for seating, floral arrangements, or other personal touches. The venue also supports celebrant-led, humanist, or symbolic ceremonies, allowing couples to create a ceremony that reflects their unique vision. For weather considerations, stretch tents, or pagodas can be set up to provide cover, ensuring guests remain comfortable no matter the forecast.

Reception

Great Danegate provides versatile reception areas to suit gatherings of all styles and sizes. The Main Reception Field, with its expansive countryside views, accommodates 200+ guests, allowing ample space for various setups, from classic sailcloth marquees to lively festival-style celebrations with food trucks and live music. A separate field nearby supports camping, glamping, and additional parking, ensuring guests can fully enjoy the celebrations while keeping the main area clear for festivities.

For smaller receptions, the Meadow offers a more intimate space for up to 50 guests, ideal for cosy gatherings with a marquee, acoustic music, or a small dance area. Thoughtful pathways connect these areas, allowing guests to easily move between spaces. In the evening, festoon lighting and fire pits can be arranged to create a welcoming night-time setting.

Accommodation

Accommodation at Great Danegate is flexible, with options for camping and glamping available on-site in a dedicated field near the main reception area. Guests can enjoy the countryside experience by staying close to the celebrations in tents or glamping setups. For those preferring traditional accommodation, nearby Royal Tunbridge Wells offers boutique hotels, inns, and charming bed-and-breakfasts. Guests have easy access to this historic spa town, with its Georgian architecture, unique shops, and ample dining options, all just five miles from the venue.

Food & Drink

Bespoke at Great Danegate offers a variety of food and drink options focused on fresh, local ingredients. From relaxed BBQs to food truck setups or farm-to-table feasts, menus here showcase Kent’s seasonal flavours. The venue works with local caterers and sources ingredients from Fuller’s Farm Shop, allowing couples to create menus that reflect the best of the local area.

Sustainability

Bespoke is dedicated to sustainability, prioritising eco-friendly practices throughout its operations. The family-run farm maintains biodiversity through hedgerows and woodlands, partners with local businesses and caterers to reduce food miles, and supports sustainable event planning.

Local Area

Great Danegate’s location provides plenty to explore, with charming villages, Eridge Park’s scenic deer trails, and the welcoming pubs of Eridge Village nearby. Guests can also visit Royal Tunbridge Wells for a more urban experience, with its historic sites, boutique hotels, and independent shops.

Getting There

Conveniently located, Great Danegate is reachable via the A267 with ample onsite parking and is also near Eridge Station, which offers direct train service to London.

FAQs
Is accommodation available onsite?

We can offer onsite camping and glamping options for a unique countryside experience. Additionally, there are a variety of boutique hotels nearby in the spa town of Royal Tunbridge Wells for extra accommodation.

Are you child-friendly?

Yes, we welcome children at Bespoke at Great Danegate. The venue's spacious outdoor setting provides plenty of room for little ones to explore safely. However, children remain the responsibility of their parents or guardians throughout the event.

Is the venue dog-friendly?

We know pets are family, too! We welcome dogs if they are kept safe on a lead so they can be part of your special day.

Can we party past 11pm?

Absolutely! With amplified music finishing at 11pm, we suggest a silent disco or acoustic music after this time - this works brilliantly and is always a big hit with couples and their guests.

Do you have disabled access?

At Bespoke at Great Danegate, we prioritise inclusivity and accessibility. Our spacious outdoor setting allows us to create flexible layouts and contingency plans to accommodate guests with accessibility requirements. With plenty of room for smooth navigation across the grounds, we can tailor specific areas to ensure guests enjoy a comfortable and welcoming experience. If you or your guests have particular needs, please let us know so we can make suitable arrangements.

Do you offer event management?

Our knowledgeable and experienced events management team are on hand to support and guide you every step of the way. We can provide in-depth event and project management, handling checklists, guidelines, timelines, supplier lists, creative ideas, research, complete itineraries, and event sheets. We relish exploring new ideas, styles, and themes to help you create the perfect event.

Do you charge corkage?

We do not charge a corkage fee, and you are welcome to provide your own alcohol to be served by the catering or wait for staff, who will ensure drinks, ice and glasses are re-stocked, and the bar area is kept tidy. Alternatively, we can recommend some great bar companies that provide a fully stocked and staffed cash bar or a dry-hire bar area featuring fridges and bar service areas.

Do you have Marquees or Tipis onsite?

Every event we hold at Bespoke at Great Danegate is entirely bespoke, so you can choose your preferred style of marquee/tipi. We work with some of the best marquee and tipi-accredited suppliers and can help you choose the right one based on style, budget, event type, and season.

Can we use our own caterer?

Absolutely! We are very flexible and can work with you to find the perfect supplier for your event.
