Set high in the Ochils, in the very heart of Scotland, just 3 miles off the A9, and from Gleneagles and Auchterarder, 1 hour from Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dundee, just 2 hours from Inverness and Aberdeen, you couldn’t ask for a more central location for your guests.
Gleneagles train station has direct trains from London Kings Cross, and both Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dundee airports are just 1 hour away. They are happy to arrange helicopter landings at Alexander House too. There’s plentiful local accommodation to suit all budgets; Duchally Country Estate (1.7 miles away), 5* Gleneagles Resort (3 miles away) to lovely local B&Bs in Blackford, Auchterarder and Dunning, all just 3 miles away.
Alexander House has a vibe that’s entirely it’s own, they like to do everything with just a little twist. The magnificent views have to be seen to be believed, and it feels like you are in a world of your own, whilst being only 2.5 miles from the nearest town, Auchterarder.
With a traditional exterior, contemporary country interiors, and their utterly luxurious glamping with ensuite bathrooms and wood fired hot tubs, there’s something here for everyone, it’s the Magic of Alexander House! The main house and their glamping offer the perfect setting for elopements and intimate weddings, their orangery is the perfect party venue for up to 60, and for something a little bit larger, their summertime Traditional Pole Marquee is ideal for that ceilidh for up to 120, with ample space for seating, dancing and your bar.
They also offer catered accommodation for up to 30 guests, including a very special traditional honeymoon suite, or for your honeymoon with a twist, why not stay in one of their ensuite yurts with roll top bath, cosy wood burner and wood fired hot tub on the deck for stargazing!

Yes! And in Scotland, you can get married anywhere that you would like, so if you would like your ceremony in the woods, or on the lawns, or round the fire in the drawing room, all those are totally fine. We do ask you to get in touch with the local registrar directly to organise the legalities.
Our Private Chef is there to serve all guests staying in our accommodation a buffet supper on the day of your arrival, breakfast on both days of your stay, and lunch nibbles on the day of your celebration.
Breakfast is also included if you book our additional bell tents for one night for additional guests (July & August only).
The only thing that is not included is your Wedding Feast & Bar, as both are a very personal choices that we like to leave to our couples to think about what they would really love to have, and let us make that happen. Wedding Feast options are everything from Fish & Chips / Tacos from the food van, to the sky's the limit - just let us know what you have in mind!
Yes, you may bring your own caterer for marquee weddings, but not those in the main house and orangery. All external suppliers must be agreed in writing prior to your booking with them, and must have suitable public liability insurance in place at the time of the event.
Arrival times are usually from 4pm, with departure by 11am.
For marquee weddings, you are also welcome to have access to the marquee the day before the wedding, for your suppliers to set up, and for the full day after the wedding, to take your decorations and flowers home with you.
