A Bridal Supper at Hedsor House

Written by Katrina Otter

Back in September a rather exciting and exclusive invitation landed in my inbox to attend the Hedsor House Bridal Supper Party for wedding planners, press and bloggers in partnership with Moving Venue by SMART.

This spectacular Buckinghamshire wedding venue has been a firm favourite for a long time and it was a pleasure to attend with my Coco hat on! Here’s my little review of Hedsor House

Notes about Hedsor House

On the agenda was a champagne and canapé reception, a private tour of the House and recently refurbished Ballroom, an intimate and sumptuous three course dinner and the opportunity to stay overnight in one of the newly installed 11 luxury bedrooms. As you can imagine, I was there with bells on!

Not only because of the evening on offer (and mention of bubbles!) but also because Hedsor is the definition of the perfect backdrop for the style of wedding I predominately plan.

Ask any Wedding Planner to name their top 10 venues in the UK and I’ll guarantee you that Hedsor would be mentioned by the majority.

Elegant, ornate, classic, magnificent, timeless and jaw-dropping spectacular and with onsite accommodation, the capacity for 150 guests, flexibility for a marquee to accommodate larger numbers, 100 acres of historic parkland, Grade II listed gardens and just 26 miles from Central London, Hedsor House really does have it all!

The evening itself was flawlessly organised by the in-house team alongside event caterer Moving Venue by SMART, both of whom I have the pleasure of working with in 2017.

The Drinks Reception in the Centre Hall provided the perfect opportunity to catch up post wedding season with several industry colleagues, fellow UKAWP planners (including my planning partner in crime Matthew Oliver Weddings), photographers, bloggers and the press.

From there we were called through to dinner in the Grand oak-panelled Ballroom to feast on a gastronomic treat of shaved breast of smoked duck, rosemary roast best end of Lamb and a beautifully presented champagne, strawberry and rose mousse with a sprinkling of popping candy!

To round off the evening we were invited to retire to the Library for cocktails before climbing the stunning Grand Staircase to our beautiful bedrooms. The bedrooms themselves provided the perfect view of the stunning park grounds and a much needed peaceful night’s stay.

Thankfully the evening didn’t end quite there as anyone staying overnight was treated to breakfast the following morning back in the Library, allowing us to recount the highlights of the evening before.

Thank you to Hedsor House, Moving Venue and all of the suppliers who made the Bridal Supper Party possible and for inviting me to be part of such a wonderful evening.
