So the first week of February was pretty busy!

I was invited to two stunning London wedding venues for a little show-around and a spot of lunch with some fellow wedding industry friends. All very, very lovely.

The first venue I visited was in the heart of Bloomsbury and it’s a brand new venue to the London scene. I’ve written a little report below, but before you dive in I wanted to share this exclusive offer from Bloomsbury House for all you folks currently considering London as your city of choice!

Coco Exclusive Offer

To celebrate the launch of Bloomsbury House the venue are offering a rather generous £2,000 off venue hire for all remaining Saturdays until the end of June 2016.

To discuss this offer and to book your viewing please contact the team on 020 7118 1119 or email bloomsbury@louiseperryweddings.com.

The Report

A Wedding Venue in the heart of Bloomsbury…

As I approached the stunning townhouse (built in 1887 for all you history geeks), walked up the stone steps and opened the door I was instantly greeted by a breathtaking scene.

At the end of the entrance hallway is a grand spiral staircase that leads up to the Ceremony & Reception rooms. It was beautifully highlighted with a truly stunning display of florals by Poppy Designer Flowers.

After being warmly welcomed by the Bloomsbury House team, we were offered a glass of fizz and ushered into the Virgina Wolf room which is licensed for Civil Ceremonies. Seating up to 80 guests I was amazed at the décor – a mix of moody panelling, golden walls and the most incredible light thanks to the huge windows overlooking Bloomsbury Square Gardens.

As I was one of the first to arrive (spot the keen one!) I was the target for Boutique Booths… Gulp. Now at these kind of events there’s usually a photo booth where we can take a few snaps and generally behave a bit silly which I must admit doesn’t sit too well with me in the afternoon before a tipple or three. BUT, the owner of Boutique Booths, was pretty ace. He told us exactly what to do, how to pose and offered us moral support. Also, this is the only photo booth I’ve been in which is full length! Yes that’s right my friends, this booth will capture you and your guests in your full wedding finery. I like this, I like it a lot. The photos were flattering, funny and some of my favourite to date – I’ve been in a lot of booths people.

Once the gang had arrived we took to the grand staircase once more and made our way to the Ascham Room which seats up to 100. This room was quite different and had a contemporary feel with it’s white walls, wooden floors and high vaulted ceilings. Once again the light was incredible and I soon started to imagine dressing this blank canvas space.

Our lunch was courtesy of Beluga London and it started with a delicious mezze of cured meats, English cheese, roasted vegetables and yummy breads. This was followed by an interactive course where a member of our table played ‘Head Chef’ carving our fillet of beef! It was fabulous.

The food created by Beluga London is seasonal and features only the best ingredients. Whilst having a finger on current foodie wedding trends they’re also skilled at hosting classic banquets. Dishes include ham hock terrine with piccalilli & sourdough, baked crab and brown shrimp cassoulet through to indulgent salted chocolate brownies.

Speaking of cakey things, GC Couture stepped in for all things sweet and we had the opportunity to decorate our own cupcakes! I loved it! I also managed to save them until I got home to share with my boy. Dinner that evening was chocolate and red velvet cakes with a glass of fizz! Super healthy I know.

To end the day at Bloomsbury House we had an intimate catwalk show with Andrea Hawkes Bridal showcasing her stunning collections. Andrea is renowned for her classic yet modern aesthetic and attention to detail. I completely fell in love with the Stella two-piece gown that had the best rustle sound!

All in all, it was a pretty epic trip away from the office… Thank you Louise & team!
