I love nice things.
I also love to make nice things.
So I get a little bit happy at this time of year… Yep, Christmas gets me all sorts of excited when it comes to getting crafty and creative.
This weekend in the Coco household we are decorating the house for the fast-approaching festivities.
First point of call yesterday was the front door… This is a bit of an obsession of mine – front doors that is… If I see a door painted in a muted grey, or a porch sporting some proud bay trees, I feel the need to point it out or take a snapshot. I’m not alone on this, am I….?
For me decorating the front of the house is just as exciting as decorating inside the house…
So I thought I’d share with you my inspiration for this years Christmas door decor and an accompanying DIY!

I love a traditional wreath, I also love anything that shimmers so the image above-left makes me a bit starry-eyed…
However it’s the upturned bouquets of greenery that caught my attention – a simple alternative to the Christmas Wreath.
This year I wanted to reflect that simplistic style yet create a statement with the size of the decor – think lashings and lashings of festive foliage, styled with a simple luxe ribbon taming the wild leaves.
My DIY christmas door decor
If you follow me on Instagram you will have seen a sneak peek of my DIY Christmas door decor, so with this in mind I’m going to use the snaps I took on my i-phone and stitch together a little DIY post…
What you’ll need:
- A large bunch of eucalyptus leaves, including the seeded variety.
- Florists tape
- Ribbon to tie
So that’s it folks…
Do you like…?
How will you be decorating your front door this Christmas…?
Something traditional, or a little sparkly, or maybe something alternative such as the upturned bouquet…?
I might have another little festive DIY for you a little later this week as well as the usual delicious updates from Coco Wedding Venues.
But for today, the festivities continue as we pick out our tree, devour a roast dinner and eat our decadent homemade mince pies…
Have a gorgeous Sunday all!
Lots of love…
