We’re heading back to one of the most beautiful wedding venues I’ve ever visited… Narborough Hall Gardens in Norfolk. Laura & Simon chose this location as the backdrop to their glamorous affair and boy did they get it right! You can just feel the happiness oozing right out of these gorgeous images, perfectly captured by Rob Dodsworth Photography.

With art-deco influenced decor, a sultry Bride in a killer Sassi Holford gown and truly gorgeous portraits in the wild meadows of Narborough – you’ll find so much inspiration in this beautiful real love feature.

Oh and there’s some fab advice from Bride Laura… So have a little read and start flexing that pinning finger!

Laura: We instantly fell in love with our wedding venue, Narborough Hall Gardens and felt it would be the perfect backdrop to our style – simple elegance with a hint of old Hollywood glamour.

My dress was the ‘Jessica’ dress by Sassi Holford, to add a touch of art deco to my look I chose beautiful vintage inspired earrings and shoes by Charlotte Olympia. My Groom-to-be wore a blue 3 piece suit from Slaters.

Our Photographer, Rob Dodsworth, was fantastic. The photos were one aspect of the wedding I was most worried about as I genuinely hate having my photo taken! Rob put us both at complete ease and his laid back approach and great sense of humour made us feel as though the wedding wouldn’t have been the same without him. He worked his socks off and was worth every penny! Our bridal party loved him!

I had six Bridesmaids in total, we chose 2 different styles and colours of gowns; three of my girls chose a long champagne coloured dress from Debenhams and the other three wore long dark green dresses from Phase Eight. The colours really worked!

I hired two brilliant professionals for hair & make-up – Gemma Holiday (Hair) and Melissa Abel (Make up), both based in Norwich. My look was very much influenced by our Old Hollywood inspired theme.

Our flowers were all created in-house by Narborough Hall Gardens, Joanne is a fabulous florist! My bridal bouquet was a cascading bouquet of white roses, lilies and (gold sprayed!) gypsophila. My Bridesmaids carried single white roses with gold ribbon. The boys kept it simple with white rose button-holes.

The venue was so beautiful it really didn’t need much decoration – we wanted it to speak for itself. We had a variety of single stem flowers in different sized vases on the tables. The tables were scattered with dried flower petals from The Real Flower Confetti company and had Jo Malone candles dotted about.

Our table theme was based on sites in New York (which is where we got engaged!) and we used vintage style postcards for the table names. We had a 3 tier, art deco inspired cake made by my Stepmum. It was fab!

For me, my most memorable moments of the day were the pre-wedding preparations, walking down the aisle and the speeches.

My advice for other couples getting married… Leave yourself plenty of time before the ceremony to get ready so that you are able to enjoy it – it goes much quicker than you think. It’s nice to have a bit of time to take everything all in and have a drink with the Bridesmaids / Groomsmen before it all goes a bit crazy.

Think about what you remember from other people’s weddings and it should help you identify what you feel is worth spending the money on and where you can cut back. Pick the traditions you like but don’t feel like you have to do them all – tailor it to you. For example, we didn’t do wedding favours which enabled us to put more towards food and drink for the guests!
