Naomi Neoh 2018 Celestial Collection

Written by Emma Hla

One of the top trends for 2018 is going to be all things celestial… We’re crushing hard on stars and zodiacs.

Indeed the new Celestial Collection by Naomi Neoh is inspired by the wilderness of the heavens, the natural beauty of the sky, and the freedom of the universe beyond the Earth’s atmosphere.

Naomi says “Our signature light silk chiffon skirts swirl in a style reminiscent of distant nebula; new dusky mauve, silver-blue and delicate peach sunset hues sit beautifully with our signature blush pink gowns, and the addition of shimmering fabrics and delicate beading subtly sparkle like interstellar galaxies in the midnight sky.”

Naomi continues “New skirts of super light weight silk voile and soft Italian tulle swirl and move freely and elegantly in a way that our brides adore. Delicate lace appliquĂ© follows the natural form of the body, enhancing the beauty of a woman’s shape and a colour palette reflective of nature’s finest artistry sit at the core of this Celestial inspired collection.”

Naomi has very kindly answered some questions for us so you can get to know this designer in a bit more detail whilst gazing at the celestial gorgeousness! Plus our fashion partner The Bridal Edit gives their verdict on this new collection.

Notes from Naomi Neoh

At Naomi Neoh we create elegant and modern bridal gowns in luxurious fabrics which feel beautiful to wear. The collections offer a wide range of styles including; full skirted dresses, slimmer flowing styles and more recently a beautiful selection of separates; made up of delicate cami tops and skirts which layer over a corseted crepe under-dress.

My designs are usually recognised for their soft flowing silk chiffon skirts and delicate lace jackets. All of my dresses incorporate our hidden lightweight corsetry which gives the bride a smooth silhouette and acts like a bra so you don’t need to worry about what to wear under your dress.

Sewing had always been a passion of mine from a young age I was using a sewing machine when I was about 5 years old. I am obsessed with fabric – I collect random pieces the way other people collect shoes.  I have a whole collection of books about historical clothing and I love looking back to see how people made things in the past.

I studied Physics at university, then I started out with pretty regular office jobs (I was briefly an IT consultant at Deloitte and a merchandiser for a high street store) but I was suffering from long term migraines and was regularly off sick. Eventually I had to give up work, and rather by accident I started making bridesmaids dresses from my kitchen table. I didn’t know it at the time but I actually suffer from a genetic disease; Ehlers Danlos syndrome which causes constant pain and problems throughout many parts of the body.

I’m a fabric obsessive and I love the technical aspects of my job.  I love doing made to measure and crafting each design to flatter and compliment the individual figure of the bride. Getting to know and build relationships with my brides is another thing I love, and seeing the end result of building their dream dress and how happy they are is priceless.

In our Pimlico showroom, we offer a relaxed and inviting environment for brides to come and choose their perfect dress. We offer three different services, where brides can choose from ordering a dress in their size with alterations, a made to measure dress which is built exactly to the brides individual measurements, or the bride can work with us to create something completely bespoke.

Naomi Neoh can be described as relaxed, fun and feminine. We always strive to achieve the best for each of our brides. We listen carefully to any feedback from each client and work with them to ensure they leave 100% happy with their dream dress. We aim for our brides to not only look but to feel happy, confident and amazing in their dress.

Dresses start from £1,995. Made to measure service is an additional £750. Alterations priced separately.

The Bridal Edit Says

“I personally adore the Celestial Collection as Naomi has stayed true to her signature styles and is very much still embracing creating dresses for the true romantic brides out there. The luxury fabrics are completely dream like and move in a way that’s almost slow motion, due to the light weight of the silks. Can we also not forget to mention the show stopping ‘blush’ colours Naomi is renowned for. I am so very happy to see a reflection of this in the new collection, and is very much still on trend for 2018 brides. A Naomi Neoh bride is every inch an English Rose Beauty. The most perfect match for a Coco Wedding Venue!” The Bridal Edit

The Celestial Collection will arrive at the Naomi Neoh flagship store and UK stockists from November 2017. For more information visit www.naomineoh.com or call 0207 821 8915.
