Chosen Wedding – A Contemporary, Fun & Fresh Wedding Fair

It’s brimming with fabulous upcoming events at our wedding venues as well as carefully selected wedding fairs that I think fit with our Brides & Grooms-to-be, including one such Chosen Wedding.

Contemporary, fun, fresh and unique, the concept of this fair has a similar start-up story to Coco! Born from a frustrated Bride’s own experience with weddings fairs that left her feeling deflated through lack of inspiration, Chosen Wedding was founded.

our story

Kiki: Chosen was an idea born of frustration! Having become engaged I set out rather excitedly looking around various wedding fairs only to be faced with a lack of inspiration. Deflated at each turn, I was left wondering whether there really was anything out there to help turn planning my wedding into a fun, creative and joyful experience. I was told it was supposed to be fun planning your wedding but what I felt then was anything but.

With a background in both sales, design and fine art photography I set about creating something that today I have to admit, I’m completely proud of. Six years ago I started a designer maker market, with much the same values as I hold today – to showcase designer makers work that truly deserves to be more widely seen and available. As a company we are so happy to support small businesses not only because that’s how we started, but because we know that expressing individuality means looking outside of the mainstream to places like somebody’s kitchen table, studio, or shed to uncover treasures.

Three years on, we’re just about to launch our #weddingrevolution campaign, taking the show on the road nationwide in Spring 2015 to uncover even more talent and bring that to today’s engaged couples, I couldn’t be more excited .

I have to say there truly is nothing nicer than working in the wedding industry and with Brides-to-be. Being constantly surrounded by pretty and businesses who strive to create the best, to work hard, to produce incredible work and push boundaries is something really special and each and every one of those people in my eyes is a true artist.

As for the Brides-to-be – well who wouldn’t want to be in contact with so much joy and happiness…? It’s also an honour to assist in some small way, helping their W-day dreams become a reality!

Chosen is about providing today’s discerning couple with an immersive experience that aims to – most importantly – bring fun and an abundance of inspiration to the planning process.

We focus on helping you find the things that shout about your own personality, style and flair. Yet all too often these things aren’t easily found or readily available in the traditional wedding marketplace. We believe that differences should be celebrated and that the creativity that our handpicked exhibitors bring can help make your big day as unique as you are.

Over the past few years our wedding fairs have been lucky enough to host some of the brightest stars in the industry both established and newly emerging. We’re so proud to support British business. We also fully believe that the designers and makers who we handpick to exhibit at each wedding fair, offer the very best creative, unique, vintage, quirky, stylish and ahead of trend items that the industry has to offer.

We work hard to curate each event so that it showcases both established and newly emerging talent. Ranging from individual hand-makers and designers, to bespoke design houses and unique vintage finds. Our goal is to present an event that offers a range of English Heritage options – that something that’s so unique (be that vintage, bespoke, quirky or just plain cool!) that it can be treasured for future generations.

We here at Chosen HQ believe that wedding fairs or any aspect of planning should never be as dull, scary or daunting as it sometimes can feel. When you join us you can expect a veritable wonderland of sparkle, expert advice, inspiration in abundance, unique and fresh ideas, personality and most importantly fun and smiles. We work hard to be more exciting than the average wedding fair and we promise you’ll have more fun than you can shake a glitter coated stick at!

For us, its not only about the fair day itself, but about drawing on imagination, expression of style and sharing inspiration often, which we do daily via our Facebook page.

What we hope to achieve is for our clients to see us as a resource where they can find the very best on offer in today’s contemporary wedding world, trusting us to do the research for them and bring to the table a range of options that they can explore to help them reflect their own unique personalities for their big day. Our shows, our online directory, our #weddingrevolution campaign and even our consultations – all work towards us helping raise industry standards and present Brides and Grooms-to-be with the best of the best.

Our Advice

If I were to give anyone engaged any advice it would be two things; Firstly to enjoy every moment of actually being engaged! For me, my only regret about the process is that I did feel so flat about organising, but thankfully I got Chosen Wedding out of the experience. Our wedding is fast-approaching (July 2015!) and I couldn’t be enjoying it more.

And secondly – make sure you explore your options for your wedding day. There really are so many incredible vendors and creators out there now who can help you express who you are beautifully. Every one of us is unique and we believe that should be celebrated, so work with vendors who can help you do just that.
