Ches & Jack’s Hyde House & Barn Wedding

Written by Emma Hla
So I fell in love with this wedding from one picture and one picture alone.

Spotted on Instagram, it was a dreamy shot of a to-die-for arch on the very delicious new barn entrance at Hyde House in the Cotswolds. The arch was created by All For Love London, one of the hottest florists around right now (in my humble opinion).

Ches & Jack were one of the first couples to marry in this brand new space and Catherine & Andy from Whitestag Weddings were on hand to capture every gorgeous detail. And I mean ALL the details.

Over to Ches…

Notes from the Bride

Ches says…

We chose Hyde House in the heart of the Cotswolds, we both loved the outdoor space! I am a London Event Planner and so I wanted to have my wedding day completely contrast the style of event I plan every day. This venue took the girl out of the city for sure! We were also keen to have a venue which was exclusive to us and gave us the ability to stay onsite and the rooms at Hyde House were just beautiful!

It took me forever to find the right dress, I’m very fussy and I‘m often referred to as the fashionista of the family. I went to over six bridal boutiques and tried on all styles with various price tags from £1k to £12k! I was looking for something usual and that gave me the best of both – a traditional free flowing gown yet a slinky and embellished evening gown without having to change.

And I found just that when I went to a local bridal store near my hometown of Sevenoaks. The shop was called Dress Dreams and my dress was by a designer called Viero and gave me the romance of the wedding dress I always envisioned as a young girl but with an inner delicate and detailed dress which became my evening gown. The dress was a two in one (with an over skirt).

My shoes were Jimmy Choo and I wore a vintage sapphire necklace as my something blue. Jack also gave me a bespoke diamond tennis bracelet and matching diamond earrings made by our ring jeweller, Heath Diamonds.

My mum is a hairdresser at Harold George in Dulwich Village and called on her colleagues to style the bridal party! My Make-up was done by my close friend Millicent Make-up. The bridesmaids wore Jessica Wright navy dresses and were gifted with Monica Vinader bracelets and Pandora earrings for the day.

Jack wore a grey Saville row-inspired suit from Marks & Spencer with a navy waist coat. He also wore navy Church’s shoes, a pocket watch, and a Rolex which I gave to him.

Our theme for the day was romantic, natural and elegant. We went for natural greens and whites and had a subtle nod to blush pink and navy which are our favorite colors. Our style was very much big and beautiful, I love flowers and I wanted this to show on the day, we went for loose arrangements but very much full and blooming.

We filled the ceiling of the barn with a full fairy light canopy – Jack actually did this in our flat the night he proposed! My florist is a very special friend and having worked together in the London events industry together, I knew Jack and I wouldn’t want anyone else doing our wedding flowers other than Ruth Davies at All For Love London with her team at Pollen Crew! She went over and beyond and knew exactly what style I was looking for. For this I will be eternally grateful.

We went with the in-house catering at Hyde House and chose a double baked cheese souffle to start, followed by stuffed chicken breast with all the trimmings, and finished with Rhubarb tarte tatin of which we chose in honor of my grandad Jim who used to grow the best rhubarb ever!

Our wedding cake was made by Vanilla Pod and consisted of three tiers. The bottom tier was a semi naked, lemon and raspberry flavor. The middle tier was a deep navy iced fondant cake with an Oreo center! Our top tier was marble iced with a passionfruit center.

We heard about our photographer through the recommended supplier list at Hyde House – after our first meeting with Catherine & Andy we knew they were the perfect choice to capture our day! Catherine & Andy were so friendly and approachable, and nothing was a problem with them – they listened to us and made us feel so comfortable from start to finish. The way they remembered all of our details, and their professionalism was outstanding, and I would not hesitate to recommend them to any bride and groom.

Best part of the day…

Seeing Jack waiting for me at the top of the aisle and for Jack it was watching me walk up the aisle.

From one bride to another…

Remember to breathe and have faith in all your suppliers – they do this day-in and day-out and they will never let you down! I was so anxious about using suppliers I hadn’t worked with before but they all delivered over and above my expectations and that’s why they do what they do!
