The Report: A Most Curious Wedding Fair

Images by Eclection Photography and Fox & Owl.

If you’re currently in the midst of wedding planning, sourcing suppliers and pouring over inspiration then you’re going to love today’s jam-packed feature! Whilst I was away last month, the lovely Lottie donned the Coco hat and paid a visit to Most Curious, the cool East London wedding fair for the style-savvy couple.

Lottie has written a little report, highlighting our picks and the post has been beautifully illustrated by two photographers we adore – firm fave Heather from Eclection Photography and the very cool Fox & Owl {a.k.a. Chloé & Martin}

So be inspired, pin ’til your heart’s content and enjoy…

A Most Curious Wedding Fair

Described as ‘the wedding show for the style-savvy couple’, I was intrigued to see what A Most Curious Wedding Fair would bring, when I was lucky enough to attend the press preview in London.

Although many wedding fairs can be seen as date and too sales-driven, I had heard that Most Curious was the complete opposite. Nestled amongst tons of quirky, vintage boutiques and restaurants in Brick Lane, the fair was located in an industrial, dynamic floor space in Trumans Brewery. Each stand and trestle table was spilling with creativity, imagination and something a little bit different.

Featuring an eclectic, modern and an on-trend vibe, the fair has become increasingly popular in recent years and I can definitely see why. With a plethora of talented exhibitors, you’re spoilt for choice. From tipis to bow-ties, shoes to cakes, photo-booths to florists, you have everything you need to plan your wedding under one roof.

House of Ollichon

I absolutely adore the idea of bridal jumpsuits and separates. House of Ollichon have got this completely right and they prove that ‘Elegance has Evolved…’

Offering a ‘dress-less’ bridal collection for both brides and bridesmaids, you can choose from a range of chic jumpsuits and gorgeous separates. A model beautifully showcased the Clement jumpsuit, which featured a beautiful, open cowl back and ultra-flattering wide trousers. A black silk waistband finished off the look, creating a stunning silhouette with a subtle nod towards a monochrome theme.

One Flew Over

It was a pleasure to meet the lovely ladies, Charlie and Jess, from One Flew Over, who describe their brand as ‘flowers, by girls who like good flowers’. This dynamic duo create flowers brimming with natural foliage, full of rustic, organic and countryside textures. They offer a bespoke floral design service for couples tying the knot, including bridal, ceremony and reception flowers. I can confirm that they also have the most beautiful floral chair decorations too, so if you’re looking for breathtakingly beautiful floral centerpieces, look no further!

The Campaign

With the shoot, we knew we had to represent current lifestyle trends as well as bridal trends, now and beyond, because that’s what the show is all about – bringing couples’ everyday love for the cool, for great style, design and fashion that they already pepper their lives with, into their big day.

That’s why we didn’t massively think, right, what’s hot in the world of weddings – we thought, what are loving right now in general..?

Brides The Show {2nd – 4th October 2015}

It’s very nearly September, this is quite possibly my favourite month of the year.

September signals birthday treats, autumnal wardrobe purchases, bronzed leaves at my feet and the countdown to the wedding event of the year…

Now in its fourth season, Brides The Show, the UK’s leading luxury bridal show, returns to London in October with a stellar line up of content unrivalled by any other wedding event. At its core is a curated edit of more than 130 industry experts, including a line-up of leading bridal designers, florists, photographers, cake-makers, honeymoon experts and caterers.

Brides-to-be you simply have to attend and here’s why; not only is it a gorgeous day out for you and your girls, but you can expect to see the freshest ideas, the highest quality craftsmanship and the very latest trends all overseen by the journalists and stylists behind Brides

Notes from Brides The Show

Joining the line-up of British and international designers this year will be Amanda Wakeley, Halfpenny London, Catherine Deane, Ian Stuart, Stephanie Allin, Sassi Holford, Naomi Neoh, Charlie Brear and Suzanne Neville. Over the three days there will be five (yes five!) daily catwalk shows that will make you swoon.

Brides The Show is also delighted to announce an exclusive collaboration with A-list designer Jenny Packham. Attending the event on the Friday preview evening, Jenny will showcase her 2016 NY Bridal Week catwalk show, including a recreation of her gorgeous A Midsummer Night’s Dream set. This one-off catwalk show will also feature a selection of designs that have been created by Jenny exclusively for Brides The Show – dresses that have never been seen in public before.

Most Curious & Top Tips On Attending Wedding Fairs

I couldn’t help but feel a slight pang of FOMO (fear of missing out!) when I heard the press event for A Most Curious Wedding Fair would be happening whilst I was jet-setting half-way round the world. I just knew this was one bridal event that would be right up my wedding-street.

But alas, in stepped my trusty side-kick and all round wedding planning Queen – Katrina Otter, and with a brief in-hand to report back on all of the fabulousness, Kat set-off to North London to see what this wedding show was all about…

So in true Coco & Kat fashion, we’ve given you a taste of Most Curious whilst offering up some Top Tips on how to get the most out of attending wedding fairs!

Sound good…?
