Notes from Narborough Hall Gardens
‘a green thought in a green shade…’
The beautiful June styled styled shoot is inspired by the 17th Century poem ‘The Garden’ by Andrew Marvell.
The poem describes a nymph taking a sensual walk through an abundant garden filled with birdsong, flowers and shady mossy walks. Set in an ancient watery landscape with gentle streams, misty lake, woods and parkland, Narborough Hall has exactly the right atmosphere and sense of place for this shoot. The garden is organic and sensual and its plants are either edible, scented or therapeutic.
It is a space with secrets, an abundance of fruit, flowers and lush greenery.

So wedding venues are my jam.
I think we’ve safely established this point, so it’s lovely when I’m asked to contribute to various reports and articles on this much loved subject.
I recently collaborated with the Academy of Wedding & Event Planning on their annual International Wedding Trend Report; a pack that’s brimming with trend predictions, inspiration and advice from some of the best people in the industry.
Kylie, Director of AWEP, says “We are seeing a clear focus for weddings in 2016 and that is one of oppulence. However, our couples are more educated now than ever before and know exactly what they want. There is a definite break from tradition as couple’s look to put their own stamp on things with a really edgy component to the decor. Metallic accents are everywhere with combinations such as rose gold and gun metal being a firm favourite…”
It’s a great read and, if you work in the industry or are a Bride-to-be wanting to soak up all of the above, I wholeheartedly recommend downloading the full 136 page report! You can register for your free copy here. But, as a little teaser I thought I’d share my offering on what I think is hot in the wedding venue world…
Wedding Venue Trends 2016
Our couples are style conscious and really know what they’re looking for in their wedding venue – visiting on average 4 locations before they find ‘the one’, Brides & Grooms take this first step very seriously!
A relaxed affair with family & friends is still the top priority for wedding days so couples are wanting to find a venue they feel at home in – warm, welcoming and super friendly. One of our most popular wedding venues is Dewsall Court, the epitome of the home-from-home venue.

Yes, someone did.
That someone was Narborough Hall Gardens.
I spotted a lovely little note in my inbox, tempting me to a night of indulgence in honour of St. Valentines and I just had to share.
Mostly because it’s with regret that my husband doesn’t recognise this official day of love (currently his only discovered flaw) and I know there’s bound to be some romantics out there who would jump at the chance of wooing their loved one with a night away in the countryside!
Now I can talk about this venue for as long as you want me to, I’ve experienced first hand the charm and wonder that is Narborough – it’s magical, enchanting and super romantic. Quite frankly I can’t think of a better place to plot a Valentines weekend escape!
Set in the valley of the River Nar, Narborough Hall is a country house that quite simply takes your breath away. There’s an ethereal lake stretching in front of formal gardens, woodlands for adventures and cozy fires for snuggling in front of. Everything about this place will steal your heart.
So, if you’re looking for a little pre-wedding getaway, maybe you fancy experiencing this wedding venue if you’ve already shortlisted it or… dare I say, if you’re planning on a Valentines Day proposal (eeeeek!) then take a little look at this offer.

Today I’ve got a spring in my step… Firstly because I get to talk about one of my first ever venue loves – Narborough Hall Gardens and secondly because I get to revisit this beautiful styled shoot I directed last year!
Narborough Hall is an idyllic venue… Set in the valley of the river Nar, it’s one of the most romantic wedding venues in England. The Hall is luxuriously furnished with original antiques, textiles and art but is designed to be homely and comforting throughout the seasons.
Everything is done with such care and passion at this venue, from the in-house catering to their skilled florists. There is really no greater luxury than this!
To take advantage of their new lakeside and garden planting of spring bulbs, Narborough Hall have created a special offering of a lovely floral springtime package! During March 2016 and 2017 they will be including in both their one and two night midweek and weekend venue price;
