The Setting

Sitting proud on the banks of the River Coln; The Swan Hotel can be found in the enchanting village of Bibury – often known as the prettiest village in England! The Swan is home to an atmospheric collection of rooms to host your special day, and a picture-perfect riverside garden, complete with a gentle trickling stream (great for rubber duck races!) and a pretty summer house, which is licensed for romantic garden ceremonies.

The Vibe

One of the main things that makes The Swan Hotel unique is their stunning location in the heart of Bibury – it is quite simply, the quintessential English village. Draped in ivy, the hotel itself was originally built in the 17th century and is full to the brim with character! The décor throughout is sympathetic to this; perfectly blending traditional Cotswold charm with contemporary style, designed wholly by their owner, Pamela Horton.

Over the years the hotel has been extended, creating their beautiful Signet Room – which is where many weddings take place. With its deep blue walls and striking chandelier, vintage-look weddings are well suited to this venue – especially when you combine this with the bunting-lined riverside garden!

At The Swan there is no shortage of beautiful photo spots! Their beautiful private gardens provide the perfect backdrop as they are surrounded by water with the river Coln on one side and a stream on the other. The gardens are totally secluded and reached by an old stone bridge – which is a popular spot for pictures in itself.

Being in the centre of Bibury, they are lucky enough to provide couples with plenty of additional places to have photos taken, such as the wooden bridge over the River Coln and the picturesque Arlington Row cottages which date back to 1380. For inside shots they have their cosy Library for family photos and the Signet room which is great for group photos.
