Knockderry was built in the mid 19th Century and redesigned in the 1890s by celebrated architect William Leiper. It has been lovingly restored for the last 15 years to bring out its original features: beautiful external architecture of half-timbered walls, quirky dormers and turrets, and internal details such as intricate Indian carvings, stunning panelling and delicate mouldings. A range of artwork is displayed throughout the hotel, and each room is individually and beautifully designed.
Their drawing room, with its wood carvings, stained glass windows and fireplace, is comfortable and welcoming and a wonderful spot for a drink and a chat. Their Library Suite is composed of a comfortable lounge and dressing area and separate king-sized bedroom and bathroom. With views over the loch, it is the perfect spot to get ready in a relaxed and luxurious setting.
Ceremonies are held either on their terrace or in their wood-panelled dining room which boasts its stunning views over the loch. The wedding breakfast is served in the gallery. On warm days, they can throw open the doors to the grounds for reception drinks and photos on the terrace, with guests milling around freely.
