The Setting

A grand, 18th Century bohemian Chateau full of antiques and original charm, positioned within one hours drive from either Carcassonne or Toulouse airports – both have regular flights to London and other European cities. The Palladian influenced Chateau is set in the foothills of the Grand Casse, over-looking the Black Mountain. La Belotterie, has its own private grounds of over 26 acres of lawns, streams, woodland and rolling green countryside.

Chateau La Belotterie is 15 minutes drive from the wonderful town of Castres which is set on a pretty river and has fabulous restaurants, antique shops, hotels, cafes and regular traditional french markets.

The Vibe

The vibe is a mixture of grand, bohemian, rustic, romantic and shabby chic/vintage.

The house has a long private driveway of nearly 1km up from the village which gives visitors a lovely first impression of the elegant Chateau.

You can have a humanist wedding in the gardens and you have the choice of holding this within the the romantic ruined walls of the stone Orangery, or within the wondrous woodland near the house. If you would like a traditional ceremony there is a fantastic church within 3 mins drive. Wedding receptions take place both within the gorgeous hall which has three huge windows and large stone steps down on to the receptions lawns. Here there are fantastic views of the Pyrenees mountains and the sunsets. There are wonderful walks to explore as well as a swimming pool if you prefer to soak up some sunshine.

You can hire the house out for a week or a weekend for you and your wedding party to enjoy. They welcome you to have entertainment and they can help advise on the best local suppliers for florists, photography, catering, cake designers, transport, accommodation and so much more.
